What to bring The hike is level and easy, first over some well-packed forest terrain and then on raised wooden platforms over the bog. Wear good shoes and I recommend covering as much skin as you're comfortable with (because: mosquitoes, bees, and ticks). Wear sunscreen (there isn't much tree cover once you get into the bog).

From the bog walk, you can drive to the town of Kemeri in about ten minutes where there is ample free parking. Once you enter the major Jurmala area, you will need to pay a €2 fee if you are visiting from 1 April to 30 September. After that, you can park in public areas at no additional cost.
